Poetry: Whippoorwill
After compiling all my best poems (27 total), I decided that I will post them all on my blog...but not all at once. I will try to post one every day, but as my readers probably know, life usually does not cooperate with such things. So, I'll try for every day, but if a day goes by and no poem is seen, don't worry, I was probably too busy that day. And I'll probably post two poems the next day to make up for it. Also, at the top of my blog I'll put a link to a page called "Poetry" and each time I post a poem, I'll put it there along with a link to the post. Oh, and I nearly forgot this other important thing, I might put a small explanation along with the poem. That's pretty much it!
Oh whippoorwill!
When the night is dark
when the stars begin to fall
when the moon begins to rise
When the fire dance is bright.
Your call then sounds
so wild, timeless, and free
and I then sit beside
the gently whispering stream.
You keep on crying
all through the night
but cease at the gentle
morning light.
You speak to me
of a life I've never lived,
of places I've never seen
and fill me with longing.
