Sleeping fire
Laughing stars playing,
twinkling in constellations
sparkling, blinking in the only
deep cobalt nighttime sky.
While the sleeping fire sunflowers
are hanging their heavy heads,
they rest, in this quiet night,
the sweet still dark air weighing
on their golden-yellow petals.
While starling murmurations
are murmuring in the trees,
Then those early sunrise reds
begin to streak a morning sky,
this life returns to wakefulness.
The sleeping fire grows bright,
ever more alive as the sun rises
casting it’s living color beams
across life, reaching, reaching
for you. Wake up, it murmurs
in your sleeping, dreaming ear.
