Light Dances on Lake's Waves

Tracing the lake with light
colors dancing on waves
clouds floating above in
an incomprehensable height.

And light dances

across gentle waves.

Clouds like cotton fibres
clouds like billowing smoke
clouds like wispy butterflies
some, like feathery ferns.

And the sun sets
behind the trees

Tall cedars cast their shadow
on light dappled waters
while the birch's white bark
reflects the sunset colors.

And the sun peeks through
a window in the clouds.

Across those dancing waters
speckled with light and color
a mallard slowly swims
saying farewell to the closing day.

And the sun sinks slowly
behind silver and green trees.
