Autumn Fire, Living Trees
Flaming maples.
Like living fire,
dancing to the breeze,
swaying to life's rhythms.
The fire will live,
but only for awhile.
Then those flaming
leaves will die, fall.
Only to nourish soil,
they'll make life richer
for next year,
helping grow another
generation of leaves.
Small and green,
they too will die.
Once the season's over,
they will brighten life
briefly, then die.
The flame will only
die to nourish
more generations
of beautiful life.
