My seed company year in revieiw
I saw a sort of new years I-don't-know-what-to-call-it on quite a few of the blogs I follow, and I decided to take the idea and turn it into a past-year seed company review.
In what ways do you think that 2014 was a good year for your seed company?
First of all, I doubled my seed selection. Second of all, I started this blog. Third of all, I found a good design for my seed packets. Fourth of all, I came up with the idea of seed sets (although no one has bought any!) Fifth of all, I made about $300 which I invested back into my seed company. Sixth of all, I got a few more customers. Seventh of all, I got a well working typewriter (that has been a good thing for my seed company) for $5. I could keep going on and on and on and on and on and on, but I think I covered the most important things!
What do you think was your best investment this year?
Either my typewriter, seed packets, or camera.
Did you sell your seeds anywhere you had not before?
Not my seeds, but I did sell flower bouquets from our garden, herbs from our garden, and Job's Tears Jewelry, at the Festival of the Nations. And if you count a blog...actually, I haven't sold any seeds from here...yet.
Did you start carrying anything besides seeds in 2014?
Yes, in very late December I started carrying Greeting Cards! And also I started carrying Planting Labels.
Was 2014 a good year for seed saving?
Yes and no, I saved quite a few different seed varieties earlier in the year, but then the early snow here in St. Louis kept me from saving some varieties that I wanted to.
Do you think that 2014 was a good year for your seed company?
All in all, I do.
I am not good at thinking of questions to ask myself, so I can not think of anymore questions to add. If you have a question about my seed company that you want me to answer, leave it in the comments and I will try to do another post and answer your question.
